We start by taking a history covering your complaints and concerns in detail, previous injuries/trauma, medical history, occupational / lifestyle history and a review of systems. This process reveals to us the part(s) of your body that may be involved and the likely causes behind the problem.
A thorough physical examination follows and covers as standard: posture, spine flexibility, shoulder and hip range of motion, spinal and pelvic joint motion palpation, muscle length checks and muscle palpation. Additional items like Cranial nerve and specific Neurological / Orthopaedic tests are performed as required. X-rays are not requested as standard.
A decision is made at this point regarding the diagnosis and the suitability of chiropractic care for you and the likely outcomes with treatment. The need for any further investigations or referral is also considered.
